I then plugged it back together enough to turn it on so I could test the right orientation of the film.

A polarization filter has to be oriented the correct way for the display, otherwise the colors will look wrong. I did that by shining a flashlight trough the screen from behind and rotating the filter until It looked right. After I got the orientation right I cut it to size and dropped it between the display and the case of the camera.
</p>
<p>The filter I used has a sticky side but I decided to not pull off the protective film. That way it would be easier to re-orientate it in case I rotated it wrong.

It was also easier to install that way because I don't have to worry about dust getting trapped between the LCD and the film.
